I love what I do. But as I travel across America, and sometimes outside our great nation’s borders, I meet few people who can say the same. It saddens me to know so many people are unfulfilled. But unfulfillment comes in many forms — sometimes it isn’t about what we do, but about who we are.
When asked the question, “Is your life satisfying you?” many would answer with a sad, “No!”
In the capacity of a Certified Personality Trainer, I recently spoke to a group of professional women and men about human personality, not only training them about their wiring, but providing an overview of how they could use the information to improve their lives. Within two weeks, I received an email from one of the men in attendance — one I’m unhappy to report — that is all too familiar.
You see, there are many people who know how to succeed professionally, but personally, in the privacy of their behind-closed-doors life, things are a bit of a mess. I know there are many, because I’ve met several over the years in my role of an inspirational business/life coach. Their financial bottom line is solid, while their relational, emotional, physical, or spiritual bottom line is in the red.
When your life is out of balance, no matter what area is out of kilter, your quality of living is disrupted, making a person feel unfulfilled — and sometimes downright miserable. It’s because of this, that I focus on improving your quality of life in seven key areas, I call them life’s power points. If one of these crucial power points is out of order, we are out of order. A balanced life requires that we give them consistent attention, otherwise misery creeps in.

So I ask you, how do your power points fare? Are you strong in all of these areas?
- Intellectual
- Physical
- Emotional
- Spiritual
- Relational
- Professional
- Financial
I too must challenge myself to stay in balance. After honestly assessing myself, sometimes I must dig in and do some hard work — but the results always make me glad I did. After identifying an area that needs work, I ask myself a series of questions that help me reset.
- Have I set goals, written them down, holding myself accountable with a date stamp deadline?
- Have I clearly defined the why behind what I want to accomplish?
- What is the next best step I should take to improve my situation?
Focusing on these seven key areas are the starting points that can launch anyone out of misery and propel them to success. I am blessed to say I love what I do, but I also love my life. It isn’t perfect — but it is fulfilled.
If you can’t say the same about your own life, then I urge you to tune in next week, when we begin unlayering your abundant purpose. Over a several week period, I want to help you live out all you were made to be.

Are you enjoying a great quality of life? If not, what’s out of order that is causing you discomfort?
