Everywhere we go, everything that affects us, follows.
That means our jobs impact our health, our relationships, particularly marriage, and how we view ourselves. It’s a crazy circle.
This is why I speak and write about issues of work, health, relationships, marriage, and identity. Every situation touches another and creates a domino of reactions. In 2013, I’ll blog across more of those specific topics. Here’s one experience I speak from.

In the past few years, extreme stress, too many work hours, and lack of attention to my diet have taken their toll. And now, in a dangerous circle, the effects are impacting my ability to do good work.
I’m a child of organic farmers, and a proponent of natural remedies, plus, I don’t currently have health insurance, so I was on the hunt for a healthy, inexpensive answer to assist my sluggish thyroid. From extensive research, my symptoms of extreme fatigue, substantial weight gain, dry skin, minor hair loss, plus a protruding goiter on my neck all pointed to my thyroid as the culprit. Unfortunately, blood work at my doctor’s office didn’t test high enough to warrant much more than experimentation with various drugs. This was not a choice I was willing to make.
After reading numerous books, and medical articles, I discovered much scientific documentation to support the claim of inflammation as a silent killer. It snuffs our productivity, our ability to sustain good relationships, and even our lives. Exercise and diet both have the ability to affect inflammation in our body in positive ways.
Physical, mental, and emotional health either empower or prevent us from focusing on work, relationships, marriage, and issues of identity. Today, we’ll focus on an inexpensive, powerful, and little discussed health tonic. Its benefits are documented as far back as Hippocrates, and the Bible. I recently stumbled across it while doing some research for one of my Pinterest boards.
This tonic has all the right elements: Cheap, powerful, and simple. According to the accounts I’ve read, the recipe offers an anti-viral, anti-bacterial, plus anti-fungal medicinal benefit. Claims for prevention and healing of many issues include:
- Inflammation
- Colds and flu
- Sore throats
- Cold Sores
- High blood pressure / High cholesterol
- Diabetes
- Excessive weight gain
- Heart Disease
- Stroke
- Cancer Cells
- Allergies
- Loss of energy
I can’t give medical advice to others. But I can doctor me. Stay tuned next time, and I’ll share how I’m taking better care of myself with this easy tonic. After checking with your own physician, maybe you’ll decide it’s something that can help you too.
